The Truth About (MY) Health Coaching

Let's face it - most of us have some judgement about ourselves based on the number on the scale. For many of us, it's a daily reminder that we're either a winner or a loser. And as much as I, and your family, friends, and magazine articles might tell you that your weight does not define you as a person, you may still hold that judgement near and dear to your heart.

What is likely to be true is that you could be healthier and feel better (and consequently zip up those old jeans again!) by making some mindful changes to your shopping, cooking, eating and exercise routines. FOR SURE, you can make a positive impact on medical conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, thyroid disease, and many more by choosing to treat yourself better with more deliberate choices.

Now, I am not a doctor, but I can work in conjunction with your doctor to get you to a healthier place. In fact, most doctors receive little to no nutrition training in medical school, so to have a team approach to your wellness is a pretty awesome concept and I would love to be on your team.

What about your kids? Are you struggling with getting them to eat balanced meals? Are they going off to college and want to avoid the dreaded "freshman 15?" Or it's already there and needs to come off? Are they younger and overweight? Have behavior and/or learning challenges? Are they athletes who need to fuel their bodies and minds? With 24 years of experience in this area, I know how important it is to pay attention to our kids' nutrition.

And then there's our older parents. Living alone, losing mobility, less interest in shopping/cooking/eating, can lead to tragic consequences. There are many ways in which I can work with families facing this challenge.

It's pretty simple to work with me. Shoot me an e-mail (wellbalancedhealthcoaching@gmail.com), go to my Facebook page (Well Balanced), or CALL ME at 301-793-6995 and we'll chat. I'm happy to come to you, you can come to me or we can meet in the middle. We can even work long-distance over phone and e-mail, which is what I've done with my first client! This really is the path I've chosen after a long and varied professional and volunteer career, and I'm looking forward to helping people live a healthier, and therefore happier, more vibrant, more fulfilling life. We only get one chance, right?

Feel free to share this and I hope to hear from you soon!

In good health,

Ruth
